In Defense of Honour Run-on
Imperial Directorate
It's been a while since there's been any movement on the RO, so for fun I moved things in a slightly different direction. Read up on the most recent post to see what is happening now. What I'd like the commanders to do is help reorganize your forces and teams, prepare them for capture operations now, instead of infiltration and demolition. We'll be moving a fleet in, along with elements of the SFC, to help set up a orbital perimeter in case any NR elements arrive to recon the situation. Troopers will provide base and ship security operations, as well as assist with retrieving whatever intel and other valuable information the ships and facilities may contain.

Since the RO has fallen to the wayside I've decided we would just mop this up and as a bonus add these new ships and facilities to our inventory. How they'll be divided up has yet to be determined. So now is the time for each branch to step it up and help drive this to a conclusion. The most active teams/branches will be rewarded with new items. wink
Caption Contest Coming Soon!
Imperial Directorate
I've never done this in the ID, but in other clubs that I've served with they have been a big hit. The basic premise is that each week (usually on a Saturday) I will release an image, and then members will submit an email of what they think the image means or is saying to them. Basically "captioning" the essence of the image in words. This is meant to be fun, so often the results and comments can be hysterical.

Now for the part I'm sure everyone wants to know about, when will it begin, and what are the awards going to be? Well it is slated to begin on 7/5/08, and the top Medal of Strategy (MoS) awards will be given for the top 3 entries each week. The competition has already received the seal of approval from the Director of Operations, and will provide members the chance to earn awards that typically are only seen in rare ID-wide campaigns or events. A nice way to work on bulking up your ID Line, as well as open the door to that next promotion. wink

The reason I opted to begin this on Saturday, rather than sooner, is because I wanted to be able to finish the coding/development of the new ID website first, and also have the chance to search for and store up some images for the contest. I've managed to find about two dozen so far, so at least for the next 6 months we're pretty much set. More information will of course be released once the contest starts, but I wanted to let everyone know what was coming and the chance to prepare those dirty minds in advance of the contest. smile
New Website!
Imperial Directorate
Well if you haven't noticed, then you must be blind. :P The ID has a new look, one that will make coding of the database easier for the DoO once we work out the bug in the "Add Members" category. Speaking of bugs, there are still a few minor ones with this new layout, but they will be dealt with over the next day or so as I have the time. Mostly they are just cosmetic in nature, otherwise the content itself seems to be loading just fine. I hope every one likes the new look, we definitely were due for an overhaul. smile
Why the Empire Always Wins!
Imperial Directorate
I stumbled across this video while searching for some images today. At 3:00 into the video you'll see why the Empire will always be the victor, even in a Dance Off!

/me marches off singing... "...cause this is thriller, thriller night" :P
New Core Exams
Imperial Directorate, Imperial University
In order to provide the most effective training of our new members, we have upgraded the CORE exams. Some changes include there now being only one (1) primary CORE exam for all new Cadets, as well as individual advanced CORE exams for each branch. In addition the Starfighter Corps now has it's own advanced CORE exam to aide their pilots. These new exams are now in service and are ready for use.

Also, the promotion requirements for each branch have been updated to require the member to pass the new advanced CORE exams for their area of service in addition to the prior requirements. Commanders are to begin enforcing this new addition effective immediately.
Battledome 75% Complete & Combat Manual
Imperial Directorate, Khaos Battledome
Earlier today the official guide to the Imperial Directorate's MP & RP operations, and mainly the Khaos Battledome's guide was coded and released on the. This guide is known as the Combat Manual. I put a lot of hours into writing this up and I know Salth put in a few to code it, so please like all the other manuals, read it. With the release of the Combat Manual this means the Khaos Battledome is almost ready to begin its operations.

The only thing thats left is to have the beta testers move in. If they are able to read and understand the things contained in the Combat Manual, and then successfully complete a battle then the Battledome will be ready. The tester will begin tomorrow, and will have a week to test the system. I still have two spots open, but I need at least one more. You have until tomorrow afternoon at 12:00 EST, to email me for a tester spot.

I encourage everyone that has not yet done so to register for the Khaos Battledome. I also advise everyone to read over the combat manual before the tester are done, so there will be no question about the Battledome's rule/procedures, or the ID's MP & RP operations. After you read over the manual you will also notice that you must submit a Character sheet after registering, please hold off on the character sheets until the testers are done.

This is going to be a big step, and everyone needs to get involved, remember everything from awards to new special ranks can/will be awarded to those that get involved. This will push our MP and RP aspect to a new level for the betterment of the Imperial Directorate!

The Combat Manual can be found HERE or under the BATTLE CENTERS section of navigation.

Executor Status
Imperial Directorate
I will be on and off this weekend due to a family celebration that will be taking place. My one and only niece is getting married on Saturday, so Friday evening there will be the rehearsal dinner, as well as the "hanging out" for the bachelor. Then Saturday morning I have some stuff to do with my dad to make sure that things are ready for the wedding regarding the sound, photography and so on. Then of course the wedding itself, with the reception and so on. I'm still going to try and get some ID stuff this weekend, but catching me on IRC will be a hit or miss affair, more miss than hit I'm afraid. But I will still answer emails as soon as possible like I always do, so feel free to SPAM my inbox as needed. wink
Fleet Commander Leave of Absence
Imperial Directorate
Due to my nature within the US Navy, I will be taking a two week LoA starting the 27th of June in order to successfully handle pack outs, order modifications, out processing, and returning home. Once I return, expect to see a Navy Wide Run-on released as well as the next issue of the Newsletter. For the duration of my leave, I am placing Captain Roan Shryne of Eagle Squadron as overseer of the Fleet. Please direct all concerns to him.

Thank you.
Eagle Squadron Commander Chosen!
Starfighter Corps
With the appointment and promotion of Captain Roan Shryne, the application process for Eagle CM is now closed. Thank you any and all applicants for your hard work and dedication. Congratulations, Captain Shryne.
Recognition
Imperial Directorate
[Salute]

I just wanted to take a minute to recognize a good man. It is rare to find a man in these clubs now a days who truly cares about the members and not his own little slice of fake power in a fictional universe. Its a trap many have fallen into and one that Salth Khan has avoided. In my time as his second in command I have seen him tirelessly work to make the Imperial Directorate a better place as well as take the time to help members become not only more active but give them one on one guidance to become better people. Salth is continually taking fire from everyone and let me be the first to say that while hard headed and stubborn Salth is above reproach.

With all that being said, I realize what I am about to do is above my awarding authority but with the agreement of Vice Admiral Corran Force I hereby award Executor Salth Khan the Directorate's highest award, The Fist of Palpatine.

Congrats.
